DGX Spark Release Updates?

Got mine at Micro Center in Santa Clara this morning. About 10 people in line when they opened at 10am – #1 said he’d been there since 4:30am 😂 – along with several Nvidia employees including the Spark product manager. They were talking to folks in line about what their use cases were, etc.

Micro Center turned on online orders for in-store pickup around 9:30, which I did from my phone while standing in line. Walked in the door at 10:00, walked out with my Spark at about 10:15. They seemed to have plenty in stock, and were enforcing the “1 per household” rule.

That matches my Micro Center experience here in Northern Virginia. It was interesting to chat with everyone in line. Probably 25 people. Micro Center wouldn’t tell me how many they had in stock and collected my ID information so they could enforce 1 per person per month. I love that store!

I think they said the release schedule was different for US vs UK. I made the reservation through nvidia marketplace.

Asus hasn’t released for the US reservations yet. Im looking for the ASUS Ascent GX10 - 1TB

You know the fact that there was NVIDIA DGX Spark 4TB units available for pickup today from the Microcenter just 12 min drive away (now sold out) is disappointing. Why was a reservation list created if General Availability was going to be processed not just simultaneously even before bundled folks on the reservation list. This one was not thought through with loyal customers in mind and is quite disappointing. On the other hand, at least units are out, lets hope they do deliver on promise in the end and that non of us on lists are asked to wait till next March …

I live in the states and received mine early 10/15

Has anyone received the email to purchase the ASUS Ascent GX10 - 1TB?

Not from NVIDIA Marketplace, but from ASUS Germany directly. I think they had my email, because I registered for their webinar back in September. In Germany you can order via ASUS Webshop already since a few days. First the delivery was expected beginning on 20th October (first shipment?), the shop now states available on 3rd November.

I just ordered mine as I still got not invite, the reservation page shows still “await an email…”. I have the feeling this mail will not arrive before Xmas.

Definitely feels weird to see the product go up live to buy, and yet those that reserved the bundle for example are still on hold. At least they didn’t request money upfront to reserve. Still interested in it for my use cases and setup. I also did a reservation with Dell back in March for their partner product of the spark and they have yet followed up with anyone nor support has been helpful.

I get your point, however, Microcenter is also a partner here. They likely had a large “pre-order” as well for these units to be in store for their customers too.

They sold out quick, and at least at my local MicroCenter in Denver they didn’t keep stock beyond mid day on the 15th. They only had a handful of them.

I also had a reservation and received the email to order mine on the 13th. It took me a couple days to make my mind up on whether to buy it or not. Planned to go and get one from MicroCenter and by the time I got there they were out of them.

I do not expect these to be high volume for the types of customers like me (there are not many who would drop $4k for this thing for personal use). I suspect they will sell a good number of these units along with DGX systems for the dev teams though.

Is it the bundle orders that are in a holding pattern atm?

Yes, it’s the bundled units that appear delayed or deprioritized at the moment. Single unit reservation emails for the US have gone out, as well as partner emails from ASUS. Some of brick and mortar retailers like Microcenter had limited stock on Wednesday those of us that ordered the $8k bundle are still on standby.

Yea I understand why that is frustrating.

Perhaps a decision made by Nvidia to fill single orders first to satisfy a large group of people? This product launch has left a lot of ambiguity in terms of demand for me. I feel this thing is pretty amazing, but the price makes it a hard purchase decision for some many interested and curious parties.

Does a delay in shipping bundles indicate higher demand than expected? The bundles units a just 2 of these and cable?

Here is to hoping the bundles get attention very soon

What’s frustrating is the lack of clarity on what’s actually happening with my reservation. As a GTC attendee, I was promised “first dibs” at the Spark. Unannounced delay after unannounced delay, and we finally have orders being sent out for single units on what almost feels like a shadow drop for the spark. Too bad I reserved the bundle, so now I’m just sitting here, “staying tuned”…

Hopefully we’ll see the bundles ready to ship by the end of the month, but this has all been a bit ridiculous.

I received my email 2 days ago stating my reservation is ready. I completed the order yesterday. Lets see how fast it gets processed to shipping.

When I picked my Spark up from Microcenter in Cambridge about 4 pm yesterday, the manager came by to thank me, which I thought was nice. I had ordered it on the Microcenter website earlier in the day and it said they had 7 in stock. When I got to the pickup desk, there was one waiting on the shelf but I was told my order was in the back, so the clerk went and got it. The manager told me they had a few left, so obviously it wasn’t in demand like the newest iPhone used to be. We’re talking Cambridge, Massachusetts here.

Of course now they are sold out.

If I had reserved a Spark with Nvidia and still hadn’t received an email, I would be very annoyed.

I received my Shipping notice. Less than a few hours after ordering it. Not bad.

Hi, were you live?

That’s the situation I’m in. Made a reservation in April, still no purchase email, zero communication about what’s going on. I would go pick one up at a microcenter but there are none in my area.

When folks that reserved bundles start receiving emails to buy please do let us know.

Exactly; I thought the same way, and did exactly this . . . only reason I’m here typing this from a Spark right now ~shrugs~

Sales Rep was like “Man; that’s like buying a used Camry!”
