Difference between SD and SSD for OS in a Jetson Orin Nano

I am using a Jetson Orin Nano and i have flashed a SD to use it, but in Internet I see that people often use a SSD instead a SD but i do not know really the differences of their use between them in a Jetson Orin Nano.

Thanks in advance for your help.

An SSD is much higher performance. Also, I think an SSD’s life is probably longer/better than an SD card. An SSD would likely consume more power to worry about if running on a battery. Setting up an SD card model of Jetson (dev kits without eMMC) is simple because drivers are in place in the boot chain to work like that, but you might need an initrd flash to use an SSD (install of SSD on an SD card model is more complicated; both are more complicated on an eMMC model install).
