different graphic cards OK?

Hi,

I’m new to the GPU business and I want to buy a workstation for different HPC topics for our group doing life science development. It is thought to be used especially for DNN work and for the prototyping of data processing algorithms for scientific data sets (mass spectrometry). The idea is to build a system with two EPYCs, 512 GB Ram and especially one NVIDIA Quadro GV100 and a GTX 1080 Ti. The idea is to check the processing algorithms also with a cheaper card which could be integrated into customer PCs. Our desktop PCs are unfortunately not powerful enough to put in a GTX 1080 Ti just there.

Question: Is it reasonable to put two different graphic cards into a workstation or is this a nightmare concerning configuration (Linux)?

Thanks a lot,
Jens

It shouldn’t be a problem.
