Direct Output From GPU

Hi,

I have been trying to output the display directly to a monitor from the GPU display port. I’ve configured /etc/X11/xorg.conf', but the monitor is not detected (xrandr` only shows the VNC display).

Our setup is Dell R760xa with 2x L40, front and backend collocated.

When I run nvidia-smi, I can see that the display is off. I know you can change this with the display mode selector tool, are you able to qualify that this is safe to do for this system/ can you provide any advice?

Please download the “NVIDIA Display Mode Selector Tool” from here: NVIDIA Display Mode Selector Tool | NVIDIA Developer
and check your GPU mode first.
We have used it for R750, but not for R760 since it is not a supported configuration yet, though we believe it should be OK.
You may need to change the GPU mode to “graphics” if it’s not already set.
