You don’t need to compile to decompile anything here. The mb2 dtsi file will be handled by the flash tool.
Also, it is not part of kernel dtb thing. DTB is just a format. It does not mean a DTB must be something related to kernel.
Also, there is no gurantee that p3509-a02 config can work for your board. As you said, this is a custom board. No matter what thing that is, it is not a NV devkit.
You should check with the vendor how to use it, but not “as I understand, it is based on XNX devkit”. What if your understanding is wrong here?

Any idea what it could be? I was thinking at first, it is related to EEPROM as I am not sure if it is in XNX devkit, but disabling it results in the same error. I also have Hadron board, and there all works OK with their CTI BSP.
