Display a rectangle with 50% opacity on top of the camera image

I am using deepstream-imagedata-multistream for some 3D activity recognition.
After detection of some abnormal activity, I like to highlight the particular camera image with a rectangle with 50% opacity.
How can I overlay a rectangle on top of the display image? Any sample code for python deepstream?

what is the resolution of rectangle? full frame? In this code of deepstream-imagedata-multistream, the app writes some texts on the video. you can also add a rectangle with opacity with opencv or your own algorithm.
