Display issue of the Jetson D131ONB kit after installing the gstreamer v1.20.7

Hi everyone,

After having installed the Gstreamer v1.20.7 into the Jetson D131ONB kit, then restarted the Ubuntu OS, I lost the HDMI signal out to the 4k monitor.

This issue happens the same for 2 of our Jetson kits. Could you please advise me how to make the HDMI display work back ? Appreciate this.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Install Gstreamer 1.20.7 by below commands:
    sudo apt-get remove *gstreamer*
    sudo apt install python3-pip python3-setuptools python3-wheel ninja-build -y
    sudo pip3 install meson
    git clone -b 1.20 https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/gstreamer/gstreamer.git .
    meson build --prefix=/usr
    cd build
    ninja
    sudo ninja install
  1. Test the successful installation by running: gst-launch-1.0 --gst-version returns GStreamer Core Library version 1.20.7.1

  2. Restart the kit.

  3. Then HDMI Display signal gets lost, the 4k monitor gets black.

  4. But I could still SSH into the Ubuntu OS of that kit normally.

Hi,
Please try default Jetpack 5.1.3 and check if the issue occurs. It seems like manually upgrading gstreamer version triggers the issue. Would like to clarify this first.

Thank you @DaneLLL , I will reflash both of those kits with Jetpack 5.1.3, and try the installation again. Will keep you posted here.
