Display Logo during boot of the kernel - after initializing a display

I am using a MIPI device driver. I wish to display a logo during early during boot. How do I do that?

  1. Shall I change the default framebuffer in the display dsi driver ? if yes, how?
  2. How can I get drivers/video/logo/ -> Mono logo for penguin to display during boot?

Is there any other way?

Please note that tk1 has no official boot splash support. Only tx1/tx2 has it in bootloader.

You could try 3rdparty tools like plymouth.
