Distortion in video encoding

Hi,

I’ve 4 cameras (640x320480) running on at 25Hz and I put these images together to a panorama image (2560x320480) and then encode these panorama images for a video stream.

When I encode with H264 everything looks fine, with the exception of a few artifacts in the encoded frame every now and then. However, if I use H265 then a good amount of the frames becomes a distorted mess (See image)

Anyone has an idea as to why this happens ?

I’m using a Jetson AGX Orin 32Gb.

Hi,
Is there a way to replicate it on AGX Orin developer kit? We run the command and the video file is good:

$ gst-launch-1.0 videotestsrc num-buffers=100 ! video/x-raw,width=2560,height=320 ! nvvidconv ! nvv4l2h265enc ! h265parse ! matroskamux ! filesink location=hevc.mkv

Please share an approach to replicate it so that we can check further.

I wrote wrong height in the original post. The resolution should be 2650x480 not 2650x320.

I’ll see if I can find an approach so that you can reproduce the error.

Is this still an issue to support? Any result can be shared?

Hi,

Yes, it’s still an issue. I’ve just haven’t had the time to look into it further unfortunately.
