Does CX7 with 100/200 Gb/s support any sender/receiver traffic shaping running RDMA?

Hi,

Looking for rate limiting to smooth out the burstiness traffic at the CX7 receiver sending data upstream in the PCIe hierarchy to the CPU.

Sorry for I can’t 100% understand your question.

But if you are use Nvidia card, you it will auto negotiate to the lower rate when connect a card to other cards, like CX6/5/4.

If you mean other vendors cards, you need test it.

My question was if there is any control knobs in the Nvidia/Mellanox CX7 can meter the received traffic to the PCIe root port upstream. The bursty traffic is suspected in the CX7 chip to the CPU root port. Assuming the traffic arriving at the CX7 is almost at line rate such as 200 Gb/s.

One more question, is the size of the CX7 receiving buffer adjustable?

If you are using RDMA, you can modify it within your application.

If you are not using RDMA, the driver will adjust it automatically based on the MTU.
