Does driver 169.09 support 7400Go? The driver does not work properly.

I recently use a laptop to do some job with amd turion X2 1.6GHz and 7400Go.
I use the newest driver, after i logout from the GDM, ACPI daemon show a message and the whole system dead.
I should poweroff and restart the whole system.
Then I tried the older driver, 96xx series.
It just works without problem yet?

Any suggestion?
Or explaination?

Unfortunately, this is not the right forum for general Linux driver issues. It is for discussion of CUDA. Not sure where the best place for Linux driver questions is, though.
