I am a little bit confused about how large the double precision performance of the new GTX580 is. Is it 1/8 of the single precision performance as for the GTX4xx or is it 1/2 now as for the Tesla C20xx? Found contradictory statements on the net, but nothing definitive from NVIDIA. Which is correct 1/8 or 1/2?
Ill second this question! I have a 275 and want to start doing DP (code is currently converted to only do single). I need to decide which card to upgrade to. Thanks
All the geforce Fermis are 1/8 the peak single precision throughput, AFAIK.
Which is not a big deal if your code is memory bound. The speed of the operations will not play a very important role in such problems.
