Dumb question Sorry, have to ask :)

Not a c programmer here… When I open the SDK project files in VS and try to build them I get “Error Code From Custom Build Step.” The log shows that nvcc.exe is not found.

OK, but I don’t understand where the specs for this step are given. I don’t see a call to nvcc.exe in any of the build project information. Where is the call to nvcc.exe coming from?

Thanks

It sounds like your CUDA toolkit is not installed correctly. You can check the paths by opening a command window and typing:

set CUDA

which should print something like:

CUDA_BIN_PATH=D:\CUDA\bin
CUDA_INC_PATH=D:\CUDA\include
CUDA_LIB_PATH=D:\CUDA\lib

nvcc is called by a custom build step in the sample Visual Studio projects. If you right click the .cu file and select “properties” you can view the custom build step command line.

Hope this helps.

That helps a lot!

Thank you!
