The games i tested using DXVK or VULKAN seems to have much less input latency than VKD3D on Wayland.
On X11 there is low latency on VKD3D. X11 is old and has security issues, else that would be used gladly even with lack of certain features which i don’t use anyway.
From what i heard Wayland has forced vsync, which is undesirable for input lag and not needed if having gsync, freesync or any adaptive sync. Strangely enough as stated, input lag seems less of a problem with DXVK or VULKAN under Wayland.
Also Screen tearning: Allow in fullscreen windows don’t really make a difference to me which you would expect to be forced vsync on/off. According to post online it only works with apps that has native Wayland support. Makes sense why the option does nothing then. But it don’t explain why DXVK or VULKAN games don’t seem to have much input lag vs VKD3D, weird.
Anyone have any idea what would cause something like this?
Either it is in Nvidia’s control or whoever makes Wayland, eitherway i beg for forced vsync removed and less input lag. My mouse is like jelly in Wayland hehe.
