EDU discount for JTX1

Dusty thank you a ton I just received the email and the code. I’ve placed an order. Thank you for your help its much appreciated!

Any progress on EDU discount in EU? You mentioned January, but it is coming to an end. Also, as http://www.siliconhighwaydirect.co.uk/ is the only distributor in EU then how would EDU discount work with it? We would use a coupon on that site?

Sorry, there was a delay with the EU certifications, and the preorder shipments to the EU have been delayed until Feb/March. The EU EDU discount pages will go live closer to the time of shipment. Apologies for the inconvenience. There are multiple region pages live on the NV webstore for different EU countries, soon these will accept the codes (and hopefully by contacting SiliconHighway, they will too):

http://www.nvidia.de/object/jetson-tx1-dev-kit-de.html (Germany)
http://www.nvidia.fr/object/jetson-tx1-dev-kit-fr.html (France)
http://www.nvidia.it/object/jetson-tx1-dev-kit-it.html (Italy)

Any update on when the development kit will be available again from the nvidia store? I’ve been checking periodically but it always seems to be backordered.

Getting anxious to buy my discounted board :)

Hi,
I’ve submitted my application form last Friday but so far nothing happened. Could you please have a check on what happened?

Thanks.

FYI, there’s a bug that disables your discount code upon a failed order attempt. The store had trouble processing my card upon my first order attempt and I cannot retry because my discount code has been disabled. I resubmitted the form but priority processing so I can get my order in ASAP would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Nick, nw-at-berkeley.edu

OK, I verified your code should be sent out with the batch tonight.

Thanks for the notification. We’re looking into resolving the issue, and will get back to you about the code and your order.

Thanks for the assist. I’ve placed an order and I think the web page for ordering definitely needs refinement. I got fraud transactions out of my account momentarily after I placed the order.

That sounds abnormal, if you believe there was an issue surrounding your transaction, confirm with NV store customer service at 1-800-797-6530 or log a case here: https://store.nvidia.com/DRHM/store?Action=DisplayContactFormPage&SiteID=nvidia&Locale=en_US&ThemeID=326200&Env=BASE

Many of the credit card providers run software which is similar to spam software. That software takes into account what kinds of retailers and purchases are favorites among ID thieves. Of those, popular electronic goods are often the choice among thieves, and may auto-trigger a blocking response. This is especially true if the actual card holder has not shopped at retailers listed as the same category as which new goods were just purchased. I suspect this just means you have not made many purchases of this type as categorized by your credit card company, and also that the nVidia store is becoming higher profile to the credit card company because of increasing sales over recent years. In these cases you may need to call the credit card company and tell them the purchase is legitimate.

The interesting thing is that the deep neural network learning software will probably one day replace the current generation of credit card company software and do a much better job (very likely running on nVidia GPU hardware0.

I didn’t get myself clear, it was an actual fraud, my card gets used in other websites with $300+ per payment right after I placed the order and fortunately it gets blocked by the bank. I am not sure how the information leaked.

Not sure the website is the reason. Thanks for answering. Usually how long will it take to full fill the backorder?

The next batch should be delivered to the warehouse by 2/8. Normally it happens weekly.

Hi, I submitted a request last Thursday but did not get an email back. Could you send me one?

Hi, when TX1 with EDU price will be available in Mainland China?

Hello dusty_nv!

I submitted a request for the GERMAN edu discount on Thuesday but did not get an email back.

I am a Student and I have used my educational email from my University.

maik.oberwittler@stud.hs-owl.de

Thanks in advance!

Have a nice day

Maik

It is still pending general availability of devkit in China, coming in March/April timeframe. We are finalizing the details of how the EDU program will be implemented in China, it is proposed to be offered through our distributor Synnex.

I confirmed that we received your request in the database, thank you. The first batch of EU discount codes should be distributed via e-mail sometime next week, I’ll let you know.

Hi! I submitted a request for an educational discount on the TX1 earlier this week and still haven’t heard back. I’m sorry to bug you about it so soon but I could really use the board very quickly for a project that has an upcoming deadline. I’d greatly appreciate if you could check on the discount status. Thanks!

Hi, dusty_nv, thank you very much for replying and these information!
I’m not familiar with Synnex. In China, people often buy electronic products with quality assurance in this website (http://en.jd.com/), which is very similar to Amazon.com. The JD.com has very fast distribution capability for customers and provides services across almost the whole country.
Thus, I suggest that, if convenient, the Synnex distributes the products into China mainland and then directly opens up an e-store in JD.com and sells these products.
I’m eagerly looking forward to TX1!Thank you!
