Enabling AR0330 cameras on Xavier-Nx

I am trying to enable AR0330 cameras on a custom carrier board that uses Xavier-NX. The I2C cameras are located on bus 2 (i.e. i2c@3180000) address 70 and the I2C GPIO is located on bus 8 ( i2c@31e0000) register 74. The device tree uses a force_bus_start register of 0x1e (cannot explain why) and that produces the failures below in dmesg and thus unable to get the /dev/videoX nodes

The register causes a camera probe on bus 3 or 30 in the messages below and on address 0x40, but because I was expecting it to probe on bus 2 and address 0x70.

I changed the force_bus_start to 0x02 and that led to more errors with some debug message dump, that I haven’t provided for “brevity”. I can provide if necessary. I ported over the code from a working Xavier code base that has had its drivers slightly modified. Code port includes the slight modifications. (Xavier code base ported to Xavier-Nx) for AR0330 cameras on a custom carrier board as well and was expecting it to work the same way, but it’s not working on Xavier-Nx like it is on Xavier. I have also posted my DT below. I would appreciate suggestions on how to make this work. I’m inclined to believe it is my DT that is the issue because due to some specifications, it is not identical to the one I have in Xavier, but the driver changes are the same, so I believe if it works on Xavier, it should on NX. Any suggestions and/or explanations would be greatly appreciated.

you should resolve i2c no acknowledge failures first, please review NX Camera Design Guide to examine the hardware connections.

Thank you for your quick response. I was able to get rid of the no acknowledge error, but I still can’t get the image to display on the camera. The camera launches but just shows green. These are the failures seen in the dmseg. I’m confused as to why I’m not getting any response from the camera. you should also found your camera device nodes /dev/video* were registered.

below failure usually related to sensor signaling issue, VI engine cannot receive the sensor frames.
could you please review Sensor Pixel Clock session to examine your pixel clock property settings.

  1. you may refer to Applications Using V4L2 IOCTL Directly for using V4L2 standard controls to verify basic functionality.

  2. please enable VI tracing logs to gather some details.
    for example,
