Hi, I get some errors when I’m setting generating the basic samplefs when I use apply_binaries.sh:
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of nvidia-l4t-camera:
nvidia-l4t-camera depends on libc6-arm64-cross; however:
Package libc6-arm64-cross is not installed.
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of nvidia-l4t-power-adapter-check:
nvidia-l4t-power-adapter-check depends on i2c-tools; however:
Package i2c-tools is not installed.
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of nvidia-l4t-bsp:
nvidia-l4t-bsp depends on nvidia-l4t-camera (>> 39.2-0); however:
Package nvidia-l4t-camera is not configured yet.
nvidia-l4t-bsp depends on nvidia-l4t-camera (<< 39.3-0); however:
Package nvidia-l4t-camera is not configured yet.
nvidia-l4t-bsp depends on nvidia-l4t-power-adapter-check (>> 39.2-0); however:
Package nvidia-l4t-power-adapter-check is not configured yet.
nvidia-l4t-bsp depends on nvidia-l4t-power-adapter-check (<< 39.3-0); however:
Package nvidia-l4t-power-adapter-check is not configured yet.
From what I can see i2c-tools and libc6-arm64-cross are only included in the minimal and desktop package lists, so they should probably also be in basic too.
Also apply_binaries.sh leaves all the packages inside the rootfs, it should probably delete them after installation, 365MB can be significant.
We confirmed that libc6-arm64-cross and i2c-tools are missing from the basic samplefs package list. We’ll validate the fix internally and update this thread with the solution once verification is complete.
We verified that adding libc6-arm64-cross and i2c-tools to the basic samplefs package list resolves the reported dependency errors on JetPack 7.2.1 / Jetson Linux R39.2.1. Please follow these steps:
Prepare a fresh BSP working directory
Extract the R39.2.1 BSP into a separate directory. Use an Ubuntu 24.04 build environment and leave the new Linux_for_Tegra/rootfs/ directory empty until step 4.
Start in the new BSP directory, replacing the path below with your actual path:
cd /path/to/fresh/Linux_for_Tegra
Add the missing dependencies
Edit tools/samplefs/nvubuntu-noble-basic-aarch64-packages and add these entries, one per line, while keeping the existing entries:
All five packages should show install ok installed, and the cleanup check should return 0. In our successful test, the installer automatically removed the staged packages; no manual deletion was needed.
Recommendation: Use the freshly generated rootfs for this validation so the previous failed installation does not affect the result. Please confirm whether these steps resolve the issue on your setup.
