Error occurred during installation of USDView

Hi,
I am having a hard time trying to install USDView from Omniverse Exchange, it gets this error:

ERROR

Error occurred during installation of USDView: request to https://api.launcher.omniverse.nvidia.com/app/url?path=https%253A%252F%252Flauncher-prod.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com%252Fusdview%252F0.24.3%252Fwindows-x86_64%252Fpackage.zip failed, reason: self signed certificate in certificate chain

I’ve tried VPN and bypass SSL Validation, but nothing worked. Is there any recommendation here?

I have never heard of that before. You tried vpn ? Why, where are located ? Vpn will not work. Are you in China or Ukraine ?

I was trying to check for a network issue in the UK, but it didn’t matter. Is the USDViewer or other apps working in the Exchange?

Can you try downloading the binaries from here instead: Pixar Universal Scene Description USD | NVIDIA Developer

I don’t have dev knowledge, but I downloaded the file, extracted it and now I don’t know what should I do. Any step by step to follow?

Let me find out what that error message means from Launcher. It is just that one app or is it everything else ? Have you tried USD Composer or USD Explorer ?

Everything, not only the USDView, but any other applications get the same error

Well this means you have a connection problem which is affecting Launcher across the board then. Are you on a corporate network with a firewall ? Do you have an anti-virus system running ? Are you on an unstable connection ? If you cannot download anything from Launcher you have to look for a global system problem. Where are you located ?

I checked with the engineers and it seems the error means you are not signed into a secure server and therefore we cannot allow you to connect. For example being on public WIFI is not allowed.

“It means that the user is connected to a network with a self-signed certificate that cannot be trusted by the system (e.g. public wifi)”

I am based in the UK, London. That’s interesting because I tried in different Wi-Fi networks, I will try to change network setups here and come back.

Different Wi-Fi networks? What about just using your home network that is secure or your work network?

Sorry for the delay in answering, I got another computer and tested it on the same Wi-Fi networks that I was testing before, and it worked. I assume this is something in the setup of the corporate laptop, I will check with IT admin to see what can be done, but at least I can access the USDView and other libraries in another computer now.

Great thanks. Good to hear !
