Error while waiting for GPU progress: 0x0000c77d:0 2:0:4048:4040

Hi everyone. I am performing heavy simulation calculations with distributed tasks in NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX and 20 cores i7 in Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, in a gamer computer that I bought few months ago. Randomly, the calculations stop, with their progress frozen, and GPU become unavailable to new tasks (with its fan still active) until I power off. To restart or shutdown, I have to wait several minutes to reboot system, and the black screen displays many lines as follows:

mar 27 16:54:16 CX3CR1 kernel: nvidia-modeset: ERROR: GPU:0: Error while waiting for GPU progress: 0x0000c77d:0 2:0:4048:4040

Before restart it, I tried to run nvidia-smi, and it displays the message:

Unable to determine the device handle for GPU0000:01:00.0: Unknown Error

The nvidia-bug-report.log reports the following, but I don’t know what is happening with it:

NVRM: Xid (PCI:0000:01:00): 79, pid=‘’, name=, GPU has fallen off the bus.
NVRM: GPU 0000:01:00.0: GPU has fallen off the bus.

Thank you very much!
