ESD protection PCIe

Hi,
I´m designing a custom carrier board for Jetson Nano with a M.2 key M for a SSD.
Do I need ESD protection on the carrier board or is it already implemented on the module?
I´m thinking about using TPD4E05U06DQAR.
Thank you

Hi, it depends on the use case you plan. In general PCIe device is not plugged/unplugged often, ESD device is not must. We don’t have such recommended devices for reference, TPD4E05U06DQAR is for USB port which has same data rate to PCIe.

thank you for the fast reply.

just in case someone else will search here for an ESD-protection device:
