Failed to copy VBIOS on new build

I’ve just put together my new PC and I’m getting a weird error on boot:

May 7 08:05:23 loki kernel: NVRM: GPU 0000:08:00.0: Failed to copy vbios to system memory.
May 7 08:05:23 loki kernel: NVRM: GPU 0000:08:00.0: RmInitAdapter failed! (0x30:0xffff:864)
May 7 08:05:23 loki kernel: NVRM: GPU 0000:08:00.0: rm_init_adapter failed, device minor number 0

The card is a Zotac GTX 760. I need to try my 1060 in there aswell, but that means removing it from my current machine, which I’ll do tonight. The motherboard is an ASUS Prime X570-P, and I’ve updated it to the latest stable firmware. There is a new beta firmware that I’ll also try tonight.

Any pointers on what’s causing this?

Hey…it looks like an nvflash with the an appropriate firmware fixed it! That card has been sitting around a while, so I guess it could have gotten corrupted, it had the same error as in the thread you linked.

Thanks for you help!
