Failure to get past directboot

I have flashed 2 different SD cards with jetpack 5.12, 6.0, and 6.1. These flashes were via balena etcher on a bare metal ubuntu 22.04 machine. Upon booting with the flashed SD card as described above I only get to the directboot starting page (note I have access to the UEFI), then the screen stops receiving a signal and I can only try again after unplugging the jetson and plugging it back in.

I do not have log files as I do not have a serial cable on hand.

I have also tried the SDK manager method, however I cannot get the orin nano to go into force recovery mode by tripping pins 9-10 as described. I read another article said that they could only get it once they have tripped pins 3-4 instead, but that also did not work for me. Because of this I am unable to get the orin nano into a mode from which it can be detected at all from sdk manager by this method.

Has anyone had these issues before/how should I go about fixing them?

Hi johnviljoen2,

Are you using the devkit or custom board for Orin Nano?

Please get a serial cable and share the logs or we don’t know what happens inside.

It should be able to enter force recovery state through shorting REC/GND and power up the board. This state is controlled by HW. Do you have other board with the same issue?
