Falling off the bus when trying to use nvidia graphics

my laptop runs on linux mint, and for a few days whenever i try to switch to NVIDIA graphics from the Intel built in graphics the entire thing just hangs and when checked the logs, it shows that the “GPU has fallen off the bus” i tried downgrading my kernel to 6.14 from 6.17, but that didnt help

falling off the bus usually means hardware/power issue, I highly recommend trying windows to see if you get the same issue - if yes, your hardware is failing and has nothing to do with the driver

(also this has been pointed out on the forums multiple times and comes out with a Google search)

additionally, this issue might not be a GPU issue at all (my case was a 1 pin broken mobo)

most of the issues were solved with smth like updating the grub, or sometimes with downgrading

i tried those and they didnt work thats why i put up this post, thank you for the reply tho

:)
