fedora 21 + nvidia 343.36 or 346.22 bug

1- disabled nouveau
2- installed without problems driver 343.36 or 346.22
3- reboot
4- after login, desktop does not work…just a gray screen with the mouse running, I need run ctrl+alt+F2 and uninstall nvidia and using nouveau back

Are you using the rpmfusion nvidia packages?

hummmm you are using Cinnamon, here using gnome 3 default fedora 21

Cinnamon is the only desktop for me.


I wonder if your issue is GDM related.

gdm work…the problem occurs after you log in gdm

testing here…

fedora 21 + cinnamon = nvidia driver 343.36 or 346.22 work !! (gdm show up for login and cinnamon is loaded later)

fedora 21 + gnome 3.14 ( fedora default) = nvidia driver 343.36 or 346.22 bug (gdm show up for login but gnome is not loaded later)

I’m surprised gnome-shell is failing (as cinnamon works), your not trying any thing fancy like wayland?
