Fedora 34 cuda driver and gnome animations just turned off after update

after updating yesterday, gnome animations just turned off (even if in the tweaks app it is “on”) and when running nvidia-smi it shows the NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn't communicate with the NVIDIA driver. Make sure that the latest NVIDIA driver is installed and running.. its really annoying, I’ve tried removing and reinstalling cuda many times.
here’s the log… nvidia-bug-report.log.gz (141.7 KB)
this was a last resort, but Im working 5 hours on this already. and with sleep its 11 hours that could be used for training

for future reference. this was because my kernel is 5.14 which for some reason cuda doesn’t support yet.
I downloaded the runfile and extracted it with the --extract=<dir> option and changed the files that caused the errors according to this Tentative fix for NVIDIA 465.31 driver for Linux 5.14-rc1 · GitHub! ran sudo nvidia-installer and it worked!
