fence timeout on [ffffffc18129a200] after 1500ms

Hi,

I am currently creadting a driver for IMX290. Still having a hardtime to make the driver working.

The sensor is now being detected and when I try to run it, it is able to output green screen only. I am not sure why it is only able to output green. There is also an error “fence timeout on [ffffffc18129a200] after 1500ms” on the kernel log. here’s the complete log(starting from the moment I open the sensor):

I have a feeling that the problem is on the device tree but I am not sure.

this is leopardimaging team.
you can use the v4l2-ctrl command to capture the raw data ,if can not get the raw data. then dump the VI_CSI_[0…5]_ERROR_STATUS register value to check if the sensor output correct line and frame value.

usually the time-out issue caused by the frame value and line value not correct or no data from mipi bus. maybe you can firstly check the sensor status and configure.

the error status of VI_CSI_3_ERROR_STATUS with all bit reading as 1 indicates

  • Flagged if the frame line width is smaller than WIDTH.
  • Flagged if the frame line width is larger than WIDTH.
  • Flagged if the frame height is smaller than HEIGHT.
  • Flagged if the frame height is larger than HEIGHT.
  • Flagged if the EOF field from the CSI hasFRAME_ERROR bit set
  • This event occurs when Watchdog timer expires and the EOF is not received on the CSI2VI interface

it puzzles me that the frame line width and height are both smaller and larger.

I meet the same error PXL_SOF syncpt timeout.I am develpping the driver for imx219.I can get raw data image.

For the imx219 I will verify it on TX2 once I got the E3322 for HQ

After modify the DT my IMX219 can working with gstreamer and argus_camera, but the v4l2-ctl still failed to capture raw data still debugging it.

Need modify the embedded_metadata_height to 2 due to IMX219’s datasheet tell;
After modify the embedded_metadata_height = “2” the gst/argus/v4l2-ctl both working well on TX2 for me now.

Leopard engineer still working on IMX290 on TX2 once get ready will update here.

Leopard has made IMX290 worked on TX2 with NVIDIA EVA board or Leopard’s Carrier Board.

that is really good news. previously I was told that the Leopard carrier board has no TX2 driver. I assume that it has the driver now.
