Flash Support from VMs? or Ubuntu 18?

Is flashing the Xavier Drive platform from an Ubuntu 16 VirtualBox guest (Ubuntu 18 host) supported?

Currently the SDKManager does not Support Ubuntu 18, therefore i have to use an Virtual Machine, however I forwarded the USB IDs 0955:7019 and 0403:6011 to the Virtualmachine.

  1. The Xavier reboots when i start flashing, i assume connection is fine
  2. I get different Errors while flashing, sometimes invalid arguments errors sometimes “error-target-port-mismatch”.

The Xavier system is connected via an hub to the Bridget network port. The host is DHCP server for this network and i can access the drive platform when it boots up via ip and ttyUSB.

Therefore my questions:

  1. Is flashing from an VM supported, did I miss something?
  2. Is there an Ubuntu 18 (beta/alpha) version of the SDK Available?

Dear Bosch.m.goldhoorn,

  1. Is flashing from an VM supported, did I miss something?

Hello SivaRamaKrishna

I have the same issue. I am not able to flash the target platform (drivePx2) using virtual box ubuntu 16.04. (https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/1055450/general/not-able-to-flash-tegra-a-tegra-b/)

Is flashing from an Virtual Machine (VM) supported?

Could I have a motivation to why VM is not compatible with drivepx2 or other platforms?
