Flashing external NVMe SSD directly by host

Hi,
Is it possible to connect an external NVMe SSD to my host via usb, flash it, and connect it to the orin nx to boot from it?

First section says:

  1. Confirm that the device can boot successfully from eMMC. If it cannot, correct the problem by flashing to eMMC first.

why its related to the process? Orin nx for example doesn’t have an internal eMMC

It’s just for other devices that has eMMC.
For Orin NX, you need to first flash the QSPI memory to have bootloader set up.
