Flashing Orin NX stops in Step 3 (waiting for tartget to boot-up) and time out

Hi, I’m trying to set up Jetson Orin NX to my board.

Jetson : Orin NX
board : Custom board
L4T : 35.4.1

My board is custom board it is already used with Jetson Xavier NX.
I installed L4T 32.6.1 and L4T 35.4.1 to Jetson Xavier NX with this board.

I put Jetson Orin NX to the board at this time and try to flash.
I checked my board with “sudo ./nvautoflash.sh --print_boardid” .
My board is detected to jetson-orin-nano-devkit.

And I try to flash down.
I used below command (I want to flash to 512G NVME) .

sudo ./tools/kernel_flash/l4t_initrd_flash.sh --external-device nvme0n1p1 -S 470GiB -c tools/kernel_flash/flash_l4t_external.xml -p “-c bootloader/t186ref/cfg/flash_t234_qspi.xml” --showlogs --network usb0 jetson-orin-nano-devkit internal

Here is my log
flash_1-2_0_20240422-190218.log (7.2 KB)

Flashing always stops in step 3 “waiting for target to boot-up” and “time out”

I checked UART log but I cannot see anything in UART.

Can I get your advice ?

Nothing we can help without serial console log.
Also, since this is a custom board, mostly you need a customized device tree, and it’s very likely jetson-orin-nano-devkit will not work.

I had a similar issue, we developed a board which operates with the Xavier NX and the Orin NX.
Our problem which also resulted in the “Waiting for target to boot-up…
Timeout” error was that our board did not have the EEPROM and our reference design did have that installed.

have a look at this link:

Hope this helps.
