Flow Control

I’m using a pair of SX6036Gs as gateway devices to link my infiniband fabric to my the rest of my environment’s network to a pair of Cisco switches. I’m using LACP trunks/bonds on both sides. The default is on the SX6036Gs for the port-channel is to have flow control set to ‘off’

Is it also recommended for it to be off on the uplink side of the configuration?

I’ve always thought yes, it should also be disabled, but we’ve seen pause frames being sent, it seems like, from the IB side. Would flow control being enabled on the Cisco side cause any issues? All NAS IO is going through this gateway.

Hi Joshua,

If you don’t see any performance related issues - keep the configuration as is.
