Gamescope renders Steam overlay without alpha

When gamescope renders steam notifications or the in-game overlay in a DRM (or X11, according to the github issue) session, the transparent parts are rendered black instead of being alpha blended.

This is a long time issue (it’s possibly never worked correctly), it still occurs on the latest 595.71.05 driver and is not reproducible on AMD or Intel. I’ve tried various flags in gamescope (force composition, disable layers, etc) to no effect.

A solution to this would be great! I always hope that it’d be fixed every time I update my NVDIA drivers

I think this could be related with the background of the menus of the BPM being black the moment you open the menu. There’s been some other reports that show this kind of behaviour. Or the steam client overlay background which does the same thing.
