GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 troubles on Ubuntu 10.04

Hi, I’m Silvio from Argentina. I’m newbe with GPU processing.

I try to install CUDA packages, but I receive the next error …

$ sudo LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/cuda-5.0/lib:/usr/local/cuda-5.0/lib64 ./deviceQuery
./deviceQuery Starting…

CUDA Device Query (Runtime API) version (CUDART static linking)

cudaGetDeviceCount returned 38
→ no CUDA-capable device is detected

I follow the “Getting starting guide” for Linux. What is wrong in my installation?

$ lspci | grep -y nvidia

I’m surprised because after deviceQuery execution, the permissions of /dev/nvidia* files changes to crw-rw— .

Thanks a lot!
Silvio

You need at least a Geforce 8xxx card, the card you are using does not support CUDA.
