AFAIK this is maxwell as its a GM107 and maxwell has TMDS which can do 600 Mhz for HDMI 2.0 is that correct?
Can anyone from nvidia verify that this GPU is actually capable of this (hardware). I am curious if I can get 60Hz @ 4k out of this thing. I don’t care if it doesn’t have native BIOS/driver support as long as the hardware supports it.
Bump… If an nvidia employee could respond…
Another week another bump.
The other new Maxwell GPUs are coming out as well (GTX 970/980). Please update your drivers so 600 Mhz pixelclock is capable. Would be nice for people to do 60Hz 4k via a modeline even if the full HDMI 2.0 spec is there. If the hardware is capable then it should be doable with a modeline.
Maxwell first generation GM10x GPUs don’t support HDMI 2.0.
Only Maxwell second generation GM20x like the GTX 980 and GTX 970 supports HDMI 2.0.
I suspected this and the fact you can get 3 display ports on the 970/980 I went ahead and ordered a 980. I am hoping the linux support will be there but I have a feeling they did not implmeent HDMI 2.0 on linux and it will be limited to a 340 Mhz pixelclock :(
