Geforce can be used in RDP, why?

Is “TCC allows the use of CUDA with Windows Remote Desktop, which is not possible for WDDM devices.” true for Windows 10? which is written in
https://docs.nvidia.com/cuda/cuda-installation-guide-microsoft-windows/index.html#driver-model

When I actually try it on Windows 10, Geforce RTX 2080 Ti can be used via CUDA in a RDP session, the timeout does not occur even if a long calculation is executed. Also, by dxdiag, I see “Microsoft Remote Display Adapter” is used.

I’d like to know why something different from the CUDA Installation Guide is happening.

My guess is that WDDM uses the “Microsoft Remote Display Adapter” and WDDM does not control Geforce, so Geforce could be used in a RDP session. Is this correct?

I also want to know what Windows version or later this behavior occurs.
