When I install cuda [the latest version Jan 2022] the Gnome desktop stop working.
I installed NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-470.63.01.run
Then I installed cuda from the repos.
Can someone give me debug steeps.
My system is as follows:
OS : CentOS Stream 8 [linux 4.18.0-358.el8.x86_64]
GPU: Quadro RTX 8000

Hi,
Please refer to the installation steps from the below link if in case you are missing on anything

Also, we suggest you to use TRT NGC containers to avoid any system dependency related issues.

Thanks!

I am following the instructions in https://docs.nvidia.com/cuda/cuda-installation-guide-linux/index.html#abstract
I have CentOS Stream 8.6 Kernel Linux 4.18.0-358.el8.x86_64
Must I uninstall the Nvidia Linux graphics driver before I install cuda?
I installed cuda as follows:
dnf config-manager --add-repo https://developer.download.nvidia.com/compute/cuda/repos/rhel8/x86_64/cuda-rhel8.reposudo
dnf clean allsudo
dnf -y module install nvidia-driver:latest-dkmssudo
dnf -y install cuda

After a reboot the Gnome 3 desktop stopped working, I get a login screen but after login I get a blank screen

I was not attempting to install TensorRT.

Hi @g.hooton,

Above issue doesn’t look like TensorRT related.
This forum talks more about updates and issues related to TensorRT. We recommend you to please post your concern on CUDA related forums to get better help.

Thank you.
