graphical distortion in Unity games on Linux

Recently I’ve noticed more and more Unity games having distorted graphics, which only seems to happen on NVIDIA so it might be a driver bug.

I’ve verified myself it doesn’t happen on Intel with Mesa. Tested on an 980ti with the 396 and 410 driver series, both have the issue.

If you want a free game to test it on, try this one: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/the-fertile-crescent-is-an-indie-rts-in-development-that-looks-quite-promising.12957

Found another title with the exact same problem on NVIDIA: https://steamcommunity.com/app/751640/discussions/0/1739974199625863620/

For anyone else who comes across the issue, there is a work around.

Still no clue if this is a bug with NVIDIA or Unity.

Hi Liam,

Just to clarify, is there a version of the driver where this worked, or is it purely a regression from one build of Unity to another?

Edit: Never mind, I see Arthur is already tracking this in https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/1043953/linux/garbled-up-graphics-in-unity-opengl-/post/5302775/#5302775
