Continuing the discussion from CUDA 11.2 GPU acceleration works while graphical output fails on Ubuntu 20.4:
Hello there,
I made the above post some time ago and concluded that my issues where the graphical interface crashed whenever I tried to run CUDA demos originated in me using a remote connection to my desktop. However, now that I have regained direct access to the desktop in my office, the problem is still not resolved and the graphical interface still crashes when I try to run the demos or nvidia-settings.
CUDA GPU acceleration without any graphical output still works just fine.
Is there perhaps any known compatibility issues between the Ubuntu MATE distribution and NVIDIA OpenGL rendering or is there any other obvious fix that could help?
Best,
John
