GT200 chipset white paper and questions

Hi folks,

I’m trying to locate the white paper for the nVidia GT200 chipset but have had no joy.
Does anybody here know where it’s hiding?

If anybody is able to help, what I’m specifically looking for is details of the components at the SP, SM, TPC and overall chip levels.

Also, as far as I can see the GT260 contains 30 processors capable of double-precision operations. But what are the chips that do this? I presume it is the SFUs (Special Function Units) at the SM level? If so is only 1 of the 2 SFUs in each SM capable of DP or are they classed as a single processor? (as there are 60 of them in total!)

Thanks for your time!

Karl

The CUDA Programming Guide has a lot of general information, but doesn’t get too detailed into the hardware.
But a very good place to look is this quite technical overview:

And one more on FP64.

In particular, your question about DP, there is indeed one DP ALU per SM, versus 8 SP ALUs.

David Kanter’s GT200 technical overview.

Excellent article. I think there’s also an NVIDIA article from a journal somewhere, but I can’t find it at the moment.
