GT200s and CUDA 2.2 on OS X Needs a different toolkit

The CUDA toolkit posted on CUDA Zone won’t work with the drivers included with the GT200 cards for Macs (Quadro FX 4800 and GTX 285). To fix this, do the following:

  1. Install the display driver included on the CD.
  2. Install this CUDA toolkit instead of the toolkit from CUDA Zone: [url=“http://developer.download.nvidia.com/compute/cuda/2_21/toolkit/cudatoolkit_2.2.1_macos_32.pkg”]http://developer.download.nvidia.com/compu....1_macos_32.pkg[/url]

Don’t install this toolkit if you have a different card, because it won’t work.

If it doesn’t work, post in this thread and let me know.

(edit: if you have it working now with an FX 4800, you don’t need to reinstall anything, you just happened to install three packages in a specific order that resulted in things working. this won’t change anything for you.)
