I have a Ubuntu 18.04 home server with a Intel Xeon E3 1246 V3. When not having my GTX 1050 Ti installed, the processor package reaches C6/C7 states when idling. However, when I add the GTX 1050 Ti card, (using 410 drivers) , the processor package won’t go lower then c3, even when completely idle. (Visible in powertop).
According to nvidia-smi the GPU is in it’s lowest power state, and all tunables are enabled correctly in powertop.
Am I missing something in the Nvidia driver settings? Or is this a bug?
