GTX1050TI doesn't work properly with 396.18, wrong scaling

I just installed Linux Mint 18.3 and installed the 396.18 driver. The result is a fatal scaling error… I can’t explain it properly so here are some photos :/

The connection is via HDMI and the resolution is at FullHD 1920x1080.
I tried many workarounds- new XServer, fresh PPAs and latest Kernel- nothing is going to help me…
And i tried all older drivers too - same result
Has anyone a good idea?

Its a brand new system…

Please run nvidia-bug-report.sh as root and attach the resulting .gz file to your post. Hovering the mouse over an existing post will reveal a paperclip icon.
