Hardware requirements for Recovery USB 2.0 connection

Dear All,

I am designing a carrier board for the Jetson AGX Xavier SoM. I would like to use the “USB0” USB 2.0 interface for USB recovery. I intend to connect this interface to a USB Mini B connector and do not intend to use this interface for anything else than recovery.

I assume that all I have to do is connect the D+ and D- pins of the USB connector to the respective pins on the SoM (F12, F13) and of course connect GND and maybe add ESD protection diodes for best practice. Am I right? Is there anything else I should add so that recovery mode will work? (E.g. do I have to connect the ID pin of the USB connector anywhere?)

Thanks and regards
Daniel

And the VBUS is needed too. Below screenshos are from P2822 devkit carrier schematic and Design Guide in DLC. FYI.

Hi Trumany,

Thank you for your response. We implemented the interface without the indicated connection of VBUS. VBUS is only connected to an LED on our carrier board to show that the USB cable is connected. With that being said, the USB connection works fine and we could successfully flash the Xavier module on our carrier board with it. The USB interface only works in Recovery mode (it is not available when the operating system on the Xavier boots up normally), but that was expected.
