Headed mode to headless mode

Hi there,

I am currently running in “headed” mode, installation was done with a keyboard and mouse and the GUI is enabled. I am interested in changing to headless mode, without losing anything or re-flashing the SD card.

I’m assuming this will decrease my memory usage, which currently idles at ~1GB. Is there an advantage to persuing this compared to disabling the GUI as in:
$ sudo systemctl isolate multi-user.target

Thanks

If you just want to disable the graphic desktop to preserve some memory, then it is okay.
