Help improving gstreamer pipeline on Xavier AGX

Hi

After several tweaks, I am able to broadcast a video stream using UDP but the image color is not right. Need to advise how to troubleshoot the issue.

I added a conversion into I420 between decoder and encoder, otherwise it repeatedly generates kernel messages about syncpt wait timeout (NX with R32.5.1).

Video broadcasting improved a lot with the command provided but the color is still not Right.

In the chair I have a orange work zone vest and the image shows a gray color.

No idea what is wrong. Does the camera feed display correct colors with:

If no, you may try to remove format=MJPG and add jpegparse:

If yes, it may be a H265 encoding issue and chroma issue.

Seems the pipeline started and nvovelaysink (choosed by autovideosink) seems running. Do you have a local monitor attached to the Jetson ?

If not, you would have to connect into jetson with ssh and X11 forwarding (ssh -X or -Y) from host having a X server and use xvimagesink. This can also work from Jetson if having X running:

I was wrong supposing from your logs that your camera was sending MJPG format, but I guess now it not the case and it used I420 format (image/jpeg,format=I420).

So you may try hw decoders:

Also try to remove jpegparse. If you need to keep it, check that the output framerate is correct.

I tried another camera and the pipeline is ok, but the image quality is really bad as the image attached, any recommendations to increase quality without scarifying

Not sure, but all I can suggest would be :

  • Checking camera resolution
  • Try idct-method property of nvjpegdec (default is 1, you may try 0 or 2)
  • Try disabling text-overlay
  • if camera src is monochrome, try GRAY8 instead of I420 for video output format.
  • If rescaling from low resolution with nvvidconv, try another interpolation-method such as nicest.

I rollback to this pipeline:
