Help please - 2x rtx 6000 pro blackwell motherboard code d4. PCI RESOURCE ALLOCATION ERROR. Out of resources

Hello all,

I have just purchased 2x nvidia 6000 blackwell pro. When i tried to install it in my PC listed below, i get the d4 error message - PCI RESOURCE ALLOCATION ERROR. Out of resources. On the motherboard error code led.

The PC works perfectly with 1 gpu, and i am sure the system works well as I have been using it with 1gpu for a long time.

My PC:

i7 14700

Asus WS w680 Motherboard ACE MOTHERBOARD

4x 16gb crucial ddr5 ram

2x samsung NVME SSD

1200W superflower platinum psu

I have done the following troubleshooting steps in addition to the usual clearing CMOS:

1. Enable Above 4g decoding

2. Enable resizable BAR

3. Disable CSM

4. Removing 2 sticks of ram

5. Made sure both gpus worked on their own.

Please advice on the next steps please.

Thank you very much.

If they aren’t already, it may be worth shifting the two SSDs to slots 2 and 3 and see if that helps.

Regardless, your motherboard only supports a total of 16 lanes across both PCIe 5 slots, so if you do get both cards running, they will only have 8 each.

Hello all -

Update: It works now. Issue was with resizable BAR and MMIO size. I think the motherboard being a non server board (albeit workstation class) only has 256Gb of MMIO addressable memory.

Each rtx 6000 should by itself request for 128gb since rebar is enabled, thus exceeding the max allowable. Disabling rebar decreases the bar size to only 256Mb, allowing 2 cards to fit in MMIO.

If anyone knows how to change the MMIO size on my asus w680 ace, please let me know!
