[helper] Little graphic tool for installation and drivers management

I was hesitant to post this message here for a long time, but in view of all the issues encountered by users, I finally thought it was maybe worth it.

A long time ago I developed a graphics tool in bash-zenity and then switched to Yad for installing and managing my Nvidia drivers. It was a tool for my own use at first, nvidia-installer being a tool that wasn’t really designed for the classic user (you and me), but for the system manager. I finally decided to put it on github, as it could help someone.

The code has suffered the caprices of my state of health, which particularly affects concentration and memory, which is why I don’t promote it that much. However, over time and by a lot of learning, it has come to solve many of the issues I read here and could, with some contribution and a bit of support, possibly see a fully functioning maintainer, solve more.

Unfortunately I’ve had very little feedback, which doesn’t help to improve, and the screen on my old optimus laptop having finally died, I’m now having great difficulty producing out-of-the-box tests. Certain types of configuration remain a mystery to me.

If the forum moderators agree, I’d like to offer you my little Zenvidia for testing, and I’m ready to answer any questions you may have.

You might be interested to know that Zenvidia doesn’t require terminal execution, or stopping the X server, or (since recently) restarting the computer to activate the drivers in the case of a simple update, and of course always being informed of the new drivers’ release.

(thanks to deepl for the helping hand in translation and fixes)
