Hoping the DGX Spark will have more memory/ storage/ bandwidth/ lower price

I hope Nvidia is going to protect their loyal fans with some reward for being patient.

I would take more memory. it would be nice to start with 512GB per unit. Much has changed with models during out wait.

Agree that more memory at 256GB is needed per Spark. I also hope that we’ll be able to connect more than 2 Sparks.

For the price of one Spark i could get two 5090s…With one i already have it make no sense whatsoever VRAM wise to buy their Spark. Also i contacted GPD5 team about their handheld to use it with eGPU. They said this thing would be definately cheaper than ROG Z13. Yes, the Spark needs definately waaay more specs upgrades. Something to run 300B GLM 4.5 would be nice!

I had hoped that DGX Spark would have some particular niche where it would be the best option, but it seems like once it ships, it’ll be too little, too late.

RTX 5090 + Threadripper PC for the same price will have higher performance.

Ryzen AI 395+ will have same integrated memory addressing and performance, at half the price, and it’ll run x64 software.

Also, the Spark seems to have a really high power consumption, which makes it not really usable in mobile/robotics situations, unlike the previous Jetson NX generations.

I’m hoping I’m wrong, but I really don’t have a lot of reason to believe it’ll be worth it when it finally ships.

Do you think it’s worth it for someone who doesn’t already have a setup at home but wants to run AI locally?

Yep. Even a simple loyalty coupon would feel fair.
Also, for anyone building AI rigs: GPUs are only half the story—storage and feeding the GPUs is where a lot of “waiting” happens day-to-day.
