How Can I Connect DP

I have Jetson Nano(4Gb) and HTC VIVE(using as Monitor)
HDMI is OK, but I can see anything but Black screen even mouse cursor on DP
On System Setting>Display, I can see the Device(HTC VIVE - HVR 5")
but no screen.

Please Help me
Thank you

It is possible that the mode from VIVE just not supported on jetson DP.

You can dump dmesg and /var/log/Xorg.0.log and attach them here.

thank you for reply
I attached 2 files here.
thank you

Xorg.0.log (37.1 KB)
dmesg.txt (99.3 KB)

Please just dump the log after reboot. Do not share a log that has lasted for over 1000 seconds.

I’m sorry. I don’t know the dmesg option.
I just typed “$sudo dmesg” … please let me know…

i attached new one…

Sorry and thank you
dmesg (71.6 KB)

Looks like the link training pass. Is there any other mode that supported on this device?

I’m not sure…
This device(HTC VIVE) only support 2880x1700(16:10) resolution…

If I use the another device(DP to HDMI)…is it possible to see the screen?
DP(HTC VIVE input) - HDMI(jetson nano output)

Can you just connect this device without any HDMI monitor and share again the xorg log?

I try

  1. only connect DP device
  2. reboot
  3. wait 3~4 minute (still no screen)
  4. connect HDMI monitor
  5. copy Xorg.0

thank you

Xorg.0.log (42.9 KB)

Why you connect the HDMI again? Can’t you just use remote access like ssh to access the board?

I don’t know how to remote access…
could you share the easist way to remote access…
“Host PC OS : windows10”
then I can try

I really don’t want to answer such question. You can google search how to use windows to ssh ubuntu host.

This is really not jetson related question. Lots of Internet resources could teach you this.

sorry about that…
I’ll try remote access
and then I’ll ask again, thank you

Please try below setup and share the log.

  1. only connect DP device
  2. reboot
  3. copy Xorg.0 from jetson to your host and share the log.

Do not connect any other HDMI that would affect the result.

use the Powershell on win10

  1. unplug HDMI,
  2. DP, Keyboard, Mouse
  3. reboot
  4. connect win10->jetson nano
  5. access file(/var/log/Xorg.0.log)
  6. copy file

Xorg.0.log (12.4 KB)

Please share full log. It looks like being truncated.

I did again…
this file is the full log
the option of “tail” command > $ tail -n 1000 Xorg.0.log > maybe no truncation…
thanks for helping me

Xorg.0.log (15.8 KB)

I have no idea what happened to you.

This time the xorg log says there is no display connected. Are you sure your VIVE is connected?

9.513] (==) NVIDIA(0):
[ 9.513] (–) NVIDIA(0): No enabled display devices found; starting anyway because
[ 9.513] (–) NVIDIA(0): AllowEmptyInitialConfiguration is enabled

Oops. I forgot the power
I did again now

Xorg.0.log (17.5 KB)

From xorg log, there is no error. I see 2880x1700, This issue would still take some time to reach a conclusion.

Please share below info.

  1. dmesg again. Previous log has too many noise.

  2. /sys/kernel/debug/tegradc.0# cat mode

  3. /sys/kernel/debug/tegradc.0# cat edid

  4. /sys/kernel/debug# cat clk/clk_summary

Please be aware that (2),(3),(4) require to be as root.
