Dear forum readers,
Is there a way I can use the Nvidia API to power off the dGPU ? My problem is that my dGPU is dead, and after failing to initialise it, the drivers leaves it on.
I solved the problem on Linux by calling the appropriate ACPI method directly, but it’s more difficult on Windows where I would either have to write a driver that would replace the Nvidia driver and perform the shutdown itself, or do that from a kernel debugging session. It’s even more difficult considering I don’t want to disable Secure Boot.
I can’t simply remove the card from my laptop (despite it being MXM), since the absence of the dGPU triggers an ECU panic, the machine beeps and quickly shuts down.
