How far can Flex go in VR with liquid particles?

Hello! I’m working for a big budget VR experience and we are planning to use Flex+UE4 for dynamic fluid simulation.
We will need a lot of particles and we are willing to go very far with the hardware (multiple 1080s or whatever is best for the simulation) so my question is more about the stability.

Is there any tangible data about how many fluid particles can flex handle in UE4 without risking a crash?
